Bob Beers, CPA
Nevada Senator Bob Beers fought to help Las Vegas families keep more of their paychecks from 1999 to 2008. Beers was awarded "Legislator of the Year" at the 34th annual meeting of the American Legislative Exchange Council in Philadelphia (July 2007).
In an effort to slow government growth down to the same rate of growth as Nevada's people, Bob Beers ran for governor in 2006. He finished second in a primary field of five GOP candidates despite being outspent 4 to 1. Though he was out-moneyed, he was not out-volunteered. Thousands of concerned Nevadans pitched in.
Bob Beers is a longtime Las Vegas resident who moved here in 1971, graduated from local schools, answers to parents and in-laws who live in Las Vegas and has answered to many more constituents than that. He earned a business degree from UNLV with distinction, owned and operated a respected computer accounting company, and today helps own and operate a firm of certified public accountants (CPAs). He and Sarah are raising two children, a daughter who attends UNLV and a son scheduled to graduate high school in 2013.
