Bob Beers, CPA
Nevada Senator Bob Beers has spent the last eight years fighting to help Nevada families keep more of their paychecks. Despite his success in the legislature, state and local government in Nevada continues to grow more than twice as fast as the population, which creates added tax burdens on Nevada's families, retirees, and businesses.
In an effort to slow government growth down to the same rate of growth as Nevada's people, Bob Beers ran for governor in 2006. He finished second in a primary field of five GOP candidates despite being outspent 4 to 1. Though he was out-moneyed, he was not out-volunteered. Thousands of concerned Nevadans pitched in.
Bob Beers is a longtime Nevada resident who has lived and worked in Reno and Las Vegas. He earned a business degree from UNLV with distinction, owned and operated a respected computer accounting company, and is a certified public accountant (CPA). He met his wife Sarah in junior high school, and they are raising two children, a daughter who attends UNLV and a son in the sixth grade.
