Businessman
Bob Beers is a certified public accountant (CPA), so he understands budgets and can catch bureaucrats trying to use accounting tricks.
In 1987, Bob Beers earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UNLV, with Distinction. By then, he was already working as a CPA trainee in the Las Vegas office of Laventhol & Horwath. In 1989, he was licensed as a Certified Public Accountant.
Beers quickly specialized in the world of PC-based computer accounting software, melding his early fascination with technology and his new mastery of accounting principles and techniques. At the end of 1989, he and a few other PC consultants formed their own company, with Beers as the managing partner. Wilson, Beers & Alu grew to 15 partners and employees before merging with a large regional CPA firm in 2002.
Beers was twice named to the Las Vegas Business Press "Top 40 Under 40" list of young business leaders.
Beers is currently starting a CPA firm with former Nevada Treasurer Bob Seale. Seale and Beers, CPAs, is specializing in auditing smaller public companies who have trouble getting proper attention from giant national public auditors. He also serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Alien Spirits, LLC, the importer of a fine tequila that won two gold medals at the 2009 San Fransisco World Spirits Competition.
