Issues
Bob Beers has led the debate in Nevada on issues that matter the most to Nevada families and taxpayers.
Immigration
Beers has long been a champion of economic liberty and legal immigration. His rising concern about illegal immigrants, who appear to be the first group of American immigrants in history who do not want to become American, moved him to introduce Nevada's "Official English" language bill in the 2007 legislature. You can read about the bill's fate on the link to the left.
Spending Control

Bob Beers is the "father" of the TASC Amendment, which limits government spending hikes to the percentage of population growth plus inflation, unless voters approve an additional increase. Politicians generally oppose it.
Moves into Nevada vs. Moves out of Nevada
We are now seeing the effects of Nevada's historical 2003 tax increase (which Bob Beers opposed). In its 2005 Migration Study, United Van Lines found:
- 61% of United's moves into or out of Nevada were into Nevada, the lowest percentage since the massive 2003 tax-and-spend hike. The number had shrunk even further in its 2007 Migration Study.
- All western states except California are over 50% move-ins, although California improved somewhat under its Republican Governor, with just a few more families moving away than moved in during 2007.
DMV Rebates
In 2004, Nevada developed a tax surplus - a huge tax surplus. Bob Beers was the man who introduced legislation to refund a portion of the surplus to taxpayers - an idea roundly criticized by the establishment, until they seized his idea as their own.
