Dina Titus: Cut Off The Head Of The Snake
February 2nd, 2008Las Vegas City Life is a weekly “alternative” newspaper with a new feature: a Question & Answer section. The inaugural answerer was Dina Titus.
…is (Beers) vulnerable in that sense?
DT: Well, again, I think he is. His record, all he does is say no, no, no, so that everything that’s wrong you can pin on him, whether it’s too much traffic, overcrowded schools, bad air …. He has to take some responsibility for what has occurred because of his no votes. Also he gets pretty carried away with himself and spouts off things that don’t look so good in print, like carry a gun to school that will make it safer if you’re a teacher, or working people don’t care about education, they just want to procreate, there are a lot of things like that that I think people won’t like. Plus, I carried that district again, all those same factors are working out there, we’ll have a good candidate. Bob Beers does a lot of campaigning on the Internet as opposed to really out there knocking doors, despite what he says.
CL: Do you think if there was a reasonable tax proposal that it could be sold to the Republican Senate?
DT: I don’t. As long as Bob Beers is there, you won’t get them. If you can get rid of Bob Beers, I think you could. Because Bob Beers just has the R-J, and he has that anti-tax and the moderate Republicans are so afraid of being taken out in a primary because they saw what happened to [defeated state Sen.] Ann [O’Connell] and [defeated state Sen.] Ray Rawson, that they will vote with him. If he’s not that - if you cut off the head of the snake - then they move back to a more moderate position.
You can read Dina’s full Q&A here.
You can also see the kind of campaign I can expect to face - my opponent will say our Nevada quality of life sucks, and it’s my fault… along with a healthy dose of misrepresenting some of my proposals (for example, trying to increase school safety by allowing teachers with a military or law enforcement background to take special training so they don’t have to keep their weapon parked a quarter mile off campus, or that hiring more government employees won’t help people who do not value education make better behavioral choices).

Dear Bob:
It looks like Dina will say anything to get rid of you. She even directly contradicts herself in this short interview. First she says, “As long as Bob Beers is there, you won’t get them .”
Then she says, “He says no but then doesn’t accomplish anything. He didn’t stop taxes [in 2003], he didn’t stop the budget from growing, he didn’t stop anything he just said no, so you want it to be an effective no.”
Both statements cannot be true. So one of them is a lie!
Personally, I hope she is right with her first statement. We need to keep you and more representatives like you in office.

Comsidering the source I’d say Titus’ remarks are the height of praise for a job well done. Keep up the good work Bob.

We are ready for the fight!
Walk the streets or raise some money, we are waiting for your marching orders, Senator.

“hiring more government employees won’t help people who do not value education make better behavioral choices”
I think that sums up the state of education today.

Better to be the head of a snake than the tail end of an ass.

Dina Titus is the epitome of stupidity. Keep on blocking hwer every move and maybe she will get the message of Conservatism. She may not like it be it EXISTS! Keep up the GOOD WORK!

That’s great you want to increase school safety “by allowing teachers with a military or law enforcement background to take special training” But what about the other citizen’s who are forced to leave their legally owned and carried weapons outside the ‘gun free zones’? What about the janitor working the night shift? Or how about a law-abiding father picking up his kid from school, what should he do if a criminal decide to ‘go around’ your existing laws?
Simply put, all these restrictions to the CCW permit indicates locations for these disturbed individuals to go and make their point. Law abiding citizens who have submitted to the training, background and finger printing requirements should not be restricted unless they are entering a secured facility such as a court house, airport or police station. See, for example, the United States Constitution.
Finally, do you think the relatively low occurrance of home invasions is because criminals do not want to wake up their targets or do you think the homeowner’s absolute right to self defense is what makes this type of crime so rare?

I think it is time to paint Dina just as she is: a Socialist. It is great to help each other, I just do not see why we have to do it as directed by Government. The more I listen to Dina, the more I hear Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin. Both very good people with great intentions, but very misdirected motives and very weak and subservient to tyrants like Stalin and Beria. We can see the result. Is this what we want? All you blind faithful “democrats” should think of that. Is Dina pledging her fortune to her goals? Of course not, she is getting wealthy at your expense. This is the dream and the reality of Socialism. So, lets just call it like it is: Socialists on the attack.
Are we ready for the new Russian republic, comrade?
