Last Friday, we closed the Transportation Department’s budget up here in Carson City. And, despite the hysteria you hear in the media, Nevada plans to take another gigantic bite out of our list of road projects - a billion dollar bite over the next two years.

The actual total is likely to approach $1.2-billion dollars. There are some federal funds not yet included in the total, and $30-million more that the joint Senate Finance Assembly Ways & Means Committee on Public Safety and Transportation defunded Nevada’s plans to attempt complying with the Real ID act.
