Bust The Cap
May 22nd, 2007The Assembly made its first run at removing whole categories of spending from the statutory cap set 25 years ago as a reasonable fiscal restraint measure. Everyone forgot it was there until the staggering Guinn tax hikes, which landed Nevada near the top of the tax-hikes-per-capita ranking for this decade.

Apparently, spending caps, like speed limits, only exist so we can tell by how much we’ve exceeded them.
George Ross’s comments prove once again that the LVCC has morphed into yet another PAC with a big-government mindset. Mr. Ross should be reminded that the “pot of money” he refers to is not the government’s, but rather belongs to the people, who at this rate will be left without a pot to…well, you get the point.
