October 10th, 2007English schoolteachers who show children Al Gore’s movie are now required to explain to their charges the truth about eleven lies or misleading statements in the movie. Here they are, from an article in Australia’s biggest selling daily newspaper:
Gore presents Mt Kilimanjaro’s melting snows as proof of global warming. In fact, the snows are vanishing thanks to local factors, including deforestation.
Gore suggests Antarctica’s ice cover is melting. Most studies says it is increasing or stable.
Gore shows scary graphics of cities drowning in seas that rise 7m, causing millions of refugees. But the United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change says the seas will rise at worst by 59cm this century.
Gore uses images of Hurricane Katrina and suggests it was caused by global warming. The Government’s expert in this case admitted such one-off events can’t be blamed on warming.
Gore suggests ice-core evidence shows rising CO2 caused temperature rises, which ended the past seven ice ages. In fact, the CO2 rises followed temperature rises by 800 to 2000 years.Gore claims global warming could stop the Gulf Stream, causing an ice age in Europe. Recent studies deny it.
Gore blames global warming for species losses and coral reef bleaching. The Government couldn’t show evidence to back this claim.
Gore claims a study showed polar bears had drowned because of vanishing ice. The study actually said just four polar bears drowned, and only because of a bad storm.
Gore suggests Greenland’s ice could melt, causing a dangerous rise in sea levels. In fact, Greenland’s ice won’t melt for thousands of years.
Gore shows the drying up of Lake Chad and claims this was caused by global warming. The Government’s expert agreed this was not the case.
Gore claims rising seas have forced people to flee Pacific islands to New Zealand. There is no record of any such warming-caused evacuation.

The earth has been warming and cooling off and on for millions of years and will continue to do so as long as the sun is shining.The earth may have warmed by six-tenths of one degree over the past 100 years, but we’re not even sure of that. Warm periods throughout history have been times of plenty, not times of famine. Al Gore and his “green” media left want us to stop producing the cheaper energy that we need to keep our economy the greatest in the world and live like the Socialist Europeans.We had better wake up and get off the “Man made global warming” before more laws are enacted that will decimate our economy and our way of life. Free markets work as long as they are allowed to.

What part of global warming do you not understand. Does man have no part on the warming that is going on? I am not able to tell you the percentage, but it is a major component. In giving the Peace Price the Norwegian Nobel Committee praised Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, a United Nations network of scientists “for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change.” “The prize is a vindication for Mr. Gore, whose cautionary film about the consequences of climate change, “An Inconvenient Truth,” won the 2007 Academy Award for best documentary, even as conservatives in the United States denounced it as alarmist and exaggerated.”

It is diabolical to scare people with half-truths and hype simply because you can get them to believe it and change their vote. Al Gore was bred to be a politician…nothing else, certainly not a scientist. Granted, he serves his calling well, but you really must question his motives. The Nobel Peace Prize is severely degraded in my mind with the award going to Al Gore because it is obviously a political choice, not a subjective one. The award speech was delivered by the Greenpeace director who obviously had a giant hand in its award. I wonder who Goebbels would have chosen if he had to pick a peace prize winner during WWII. There is simply too much controversy to sell this as a done deal. For one thing, water vapor is 200 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than CO2, yet we are going to hydrogen cars in a big way. Has anyone explained that? There are other factors such as buffering of CO2 by the ocean and cyclical climate change that has nothing to do with CO2. The bottom line is that if you want to live in fear, there are plenty of other things to fear which are more relevant, like Al Gore becoming president, for instance.
